Corinth, TX, May 6, 2020 - Corinth Police Chief Jerry Garner is seeking community assistance in the 2017 homicide of Denton County resident Amanda Clairmont, age 21. Miss Clairmont was a student majoring in Business with a specialty of Religion at the University of North Texas. She had been working as a makeup artist at Nordstrom in Frisco, Texas. This murder has been the only homicide reported in Corinth since 2001.

Corinth Police Officers discovered a suspicious vehicle parked against a fence in a vacant parking lot in the 5700 Block of Interstate 35E, at about 6 a.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2017. Upon investigating, officers found a deceased woman who had suffered gunshot wounds. Miss Clairmont is known to have been in the Fry Street bar area in Denton shortly before her murder. An investigation determined that she pulled into a parking lot in a dark-colored vehicle and spoke to one or more individuals in a red vehicle. The shooting occurred shortly after that.

The Department has continuously investigated the case since its occurrence. Throughout the investigation, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Denton County Sheriff's Office, and the Texas Rangers have assisted in this case.

The Corinth Police Department is seeking information from anyone who may have seen something that night, either at the shooting scene or elsewhere. A substantial reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this unsolved murder.

Persons with information are to contact Investigator Carson Crow of the Corinth Police Department at 940 279-1500.
