Chief's Message

I keep hearing that this is a terrible time to be a police officer. I disagree. I believe that there has never been a better (if more challenging) time for exceptional police officers and agencies to demonstrate what it means to be a compassionate, ethical, competent professional.

I think those descriptors accurately describe the men and women of the Corinth Police Department. We already have in place virtually all the measures currently being called for in the effort to make American policing better and more compassionate.  We are very, very picky when it comes to selecting those we want to serve our community as its protectors.  And we are continuously recruiting excellence.  In addition to the exceptional police officers we have attracted from North Texas, we recently have added some excellent, experienced police officers from New York, Colorado, and California, for starters. We are willing to go the distance, so to speak, in finding the best to serve our residents.  But we are always looking for additional, exceptional people-helping peacekeepers.  If that describes you or someone you know, we would love to make the connection.

Meanwhile, we would like you to know a bit more about us….

Welcome to the website for the Corinth Police Department. The 41 sworn and 6 civilian members of the Department are dedicated to providing protection and exceptional customer service to our community, and we hope you will use these pages to learn more about us. We are a state-recognized, exceptional police agency staffed by exceptional people. Our values include honor, integrity, pride, and service. We are extremely proud of our organization and the community we serve.

We believe strongly in partnering with the members of our community to achieve what we all desire: a safe, vibrant Corinth. To that end we offer the Citizens Public Safety Academy, Citizens on Patrol, Volunteers in Policing, Coffee with a Cop, and Neighborhood Watch Programs. We realize that the more our citizens know about us and what we do, the better it is for us all. We are well aware that crime prevention and suppression is a job for all of us, not just your police officers. Simply put, we cannot succeed in keeping you well-informed and protected without your help. We are grateful for the terrific community backing we receive in Corinth. We pledge to do our best to earn that trust and support every day.

We want to get to know you, our public safety consumers, even better. These web pages can help inform you. But we encourage you to stop and talk with our officers. When that is not feasible, a friendly wave will suffice. We truly enjoy meeting nice people and I can promise that you will be meeting some very nice men and women in blue in return.

Thanks in advance for your support. We look forward to meeting you.

Sincerely,
Jerry Garner, Chief of Police
