Appearance Instructions

  • Please be aware that a telephone call does not constitute an appearance.
  • If you wish to plead not guilty, you must appear on your initial court response date as stated on your citation in order to receive a specific date and time at which to appear.
  • If you wish to be represented by counsel, your attorney must make a written legal representation, by fax, mail or in person, on or before your court date.

You may dispose of your case prior to your court date by one of the following methods:

  • If you wish to plead not guilty or no contest and pay any fines and costs incurred, you may appear in person at our offices, send payment by mail or pay through the Online Citation Pay website.
  • You may be able to have your citation dismissed by pleading Guilty and submitting to a term of probation. For more information visit the Deferred Disposition page.
  • If you wish to dispose of your case through a Driver Safety Course, your case must fulfill certain statutory requirements. For more information visit the Driver Safety Course page.
  • If you wish to plead not guilty, you must appear at the Corinth Municipal Court on your initial appearance date as stated on your citation to be scheduled for a pre-trial conference, at which time you will meet with the prosecutor and decide if you would like to have a trial by judge or a trial by jury.

Juveniles

If you are a juvenile or a minor charged with a tobacco or alcohol related offense, do not mail in payment. Please contact the court for information regarding your appearance.

  • Juvenile traffic - (age 10-16) must appear in court with a parent or legal guardian. Notification will be mailed to defendant's address.
  • Alcohol or tobacco by minor - (age 10-16) must appear in court with a parent or legal guardian. Notification will be mailed to the defendant's address.
  • Alcohol offenses by a minor - (age 17-20) must appear in court. Notification will be mailed to defendant's address.

Failure to appear or pay fine may result in a warrant being issued for your arrest.
