Animal Service Calls

The City of Corinth contracts with the Town of Hickory Creek for Animal Shelter services. Contact the Hickory Creek Animal Shelter at (940) 465-7444 for adoptions, redemption, and owner releases. Contact the Denton County Sheriff's Department at (940) 349-1600, option 9 for all other animal service calls. If you are the victim of or need to report an animal bite and it is an emergency, please dial 911.

Live Animal Traps

Live animal traps are available from Animal Services. There is no cost to use a trap, however there is a $50 deposit per trap. Please call to check availability. 

Animal Registration

City Ordinance requires that dogs and cats over the age of 3 months must be registered with the City. Registration can be done at the Corinth Police Department or Hickory Creek Town Hall during business hours. The registration fee is $10 per animal and is good for one year. The fee is waived for service animals. Anti-rabies vaccination documentation issued by a registered veterinarian duly licensed to practice by the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners must be presented at the time of registration.
