CORINTH COVID-19 UPDATE

LEVEL YELLOW

Corinth, TX, June 16, 2020  -  The City of Corinth transitioned to Level Yellow on the COVID-19 Readiness Response Plan on Monday, June 15, further opening city operations.  Recognizing the uncertainty related to the spread of the disease, city officials have taken measures to evaluate and adjust the Response Plan based on new conditions.

“City staff is continually reviewing the COVID Response Plan to ensure the health of the community and employees,” stated Bob Hart City Manager.  “Our current plan is to hold at level yellow for several weeks, if not months.   As the number of active cases increases daily, we want to ensure the City can provide uninterrupted city services.”

City facilities remain open to the public Monday – Thursday, and Friday by appointment only.  Many services, including permits, business license applications, payment of water bills, court fines, and the submittal of concerns, can be performed on the City Hall On-Demand website

“It is important for our residents to continue social distancing practices and to wear masks when out in public,” stated Hart.  “We encourage everyone to contact us online, by phone or email, to limit person-to-person exposure.”

City Council and board meetings will transition to in-person meetings while still providing a virtual option for board members and members of the community.  Municipal Court will continue providing virtual court dockets following guidelines established by the Office of Court Administration.   Hart also announced the reopening of the athletic fields for use by small groups.
