CORINTH RECEIVES 11TH CONSECUTIVE AWARD FOR FINANCIAL REPORTING

CORINTH, TX, December 17, 2020 – The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to the City of Corinth by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the 11th consecutive year. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

The CAFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.

"This achievement is a remarkable testament to the level of governmental accounting and financial reporting our staff has set forth," stated City Manager Bob Hart. "We are so appreciative of the staff’s consistent efforts to produce quality reports."

This award is valid for one year and reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental reporting.
