How is my sewer rate calculated?

The residential sewer charge is calculated during the winter months of November through March. The highest consumption of these four months is disregarded and the remaining three are averaged together to establish each resident's sewer charge for the year.

For more information, please visit the Wastewater Rates page.

Why is my water bill a different amount than my neighbor who has the same number of occupants?

Although there may be the same number of occupants the bills will differ. Also, the size of a home does not affect water consumption because it is the residents' habits that cause usage. Factors such as watering habits, will have an effect on your bill. Often the difference will be in the sewer charge. Since each home's sewer charge for the year is based on their individual average consumption during the winter months, very seldom do two homes have the same sewer charge.
