CORINTH, TX- The Commons at Agora is envisioned to be an iconic gathering space that will inform future mixed-use development on the surrounding properties to create a true downtown district, Agora while serving as a central hub for community activities, events, and festivals. This dynamic space will be defined by exciting shopping, dining, and living opportunities with a local flair. Drawing from its ancient Greek origins, Agora means “marketplace”, and this gathering space will re-imagine the meaning of marketplace by infusing an elevated, modern, Texas-twist that is distinctly Corinth. Status Updates
April 2024
Handrails have been painted and most of the concrete work has been finished. The playground and pad is complete. The splashpad is complete.
March 2024
The playground equipment has ben installed. Pavement around the park has been poured, and the stone on walls and building are close to completion.
February 2024
The playground installation has begun, and light pole bases will be poured this month. The boardwalk is close to completion.
January 2024
The roof is being completed. Cast stone is being installed at the stage building, and hand rail installation on the retaining wall will begin.
December 2023
Getting closer to the Late February Opening. Construction will be focused on the inside of the stage and the roof.
November 2023
Construction this month is focused on Stage roof and grading. Updated progress pictures on heading.
September 2023
Boardwalk, retaining walls, and the stage are all being built. Click here to see the Agora video on the project.
May 2023
Various construction issues encountered due to underground soils. Design changes for the stage building and the retaining walls have been completed and the concrete for the foundation for the stage has begun. Work continues with detailed site grading for preparation of retaining walls. Underground rainwater harvesting cistern has been installed. Helical Piers for the boardwalk have been installed.
February 2023
Byrne Construction has been working diligently to begin going vertical for the Stage building. Surface grading has been finished for the playground area, and the boardwalk layout has been issued. Weather has caused a few delays in construction, but we are excited for dry weather and sunshine to continue construction.

December 2022
Construction continues for The Commons at Agora Park! The dirt crew has finished moisture conditioning under the building pad for the stage building, and have been installing and testing lifts for the stage. A drill rig has been delivered on site to begin drilling piers for the building foundation and also the retaining walls. The Utility Contractor will begin work soon to get utility infrastructure in place.
City Staff is meeting with the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) and design team weekly for construction updates.
September 2022
Clearing and grubbing has been completed onsite. Construction fencing has been installed to protect the creek that flows through the park. A dirt contractor is digging out underneath the stage building pad so that moisture conditioning can be started to prep the building pad. City Staff is meeting with the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) and design team weekly for construction updates.
August 2022
A pre-construction meeting was held with the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) Byrne Construction Services on August 4th, 2022. Construction is anticipated to begin the beginning of September.
July 2022
City staff presented GMP to City Council at the July 7th council meeting. The Groundbreaking is scheduled for July 22, 2022.
June 2022
Project is currently wrapping up design. City Staff anticipates presenting GMP to City Council July 2022. Groundbreaking is tentatively scheduled for the end of July.
April 2022
Project is currently under design. The City anticipates to award GMP July 2022. Construction is anticipated to begin July 2022.
January 2022
Under Design. Construction is anticipated to begin April 2022.
