LAKE CITIES FIRE DEPARTMENT AWARDED GOLD LEVEL FOR PEDIATRIC CARE

LCFD

Corinth, TX, April 15, 2020 - The EMSC State Partnership has recognized the Lake Cities Fire Department at the GOLD Level of pediatric care readiness through the EMS Recognition Program. Gold Level is the highest level of recognition from the Baylor College of Medicine.

This award places a spotlight on the delivery of high-quality emergency medical care for children, focusing on the unique needs of critically ill or injured pediatric patients and the challenges faced by EMS professionals in meeting those needs.

"We would like to commend Chief Luther for his efforts towards achieving this goal, as well as the continued high performance of members of the Department, as it is their great work that has led to this honor. We are proud to be able to share this award with our community, and will continue to provide the best possible service to all our residents," stated Chief Michael Ross.

In addition to excellent pediatric care, to achieve recognition at the Gold Level through the EMSC Voluntary Recognition Program, an EMS agency shall regularly participate in community outreach initiatives.
Some examples include:

1. Hosting a community safety day at the station;

2. Hosting a community CPR class, including child/infant curriculum components;

3. Providing a presentation to local elementary school students on EMS;

4. Partnering with your local chapter of Safe Kids TX to host a car-seat installation workshop
