FIRE HOUSE NO.3 AWARDED GOLDEN TROWEL AWARD

Corinth, TX, October 1, 2019 - The Lake Cities Fire Department has recently been awarded the Texas Masonry Council Golden Trowel Award for the design of Fire House No.3. The judges remarks included praise for the dynamic design and functionality of the building in correlation with surrounding buildings. They commend the use of blocks for a functional and unique building.

The Texas Masonry Council (TMC) sponsors the Golden Trowel Competition annually in conjunction with the State Convention. Members of the TMC understand that quality masonry projects in Texas are the result of strong creative vision and skilled execution. The purpose of the Award is to give recognition to the outstanding design of Architects and the brilliant craftsmanship of the Mason Contractors in Texas.

"We are honored to receive this award.  Members of staff and council spent many hours working on the design of this facility.  We are grateful to have such a structure to call home for the Lake Cities Fire Department, "stated Chief Michael Ross.

The 11,820 square-foot fire house was designed by the Eikon Consulting Group, LLC with blocks provided by Skinner Masonry LLP.  The Fire House opened in February 2019 to meet the fire, rescue, and emergency medical services of the growing communities of Corinth, Lake Dallas, Hickory Creek and Shady Shores.
