Construction Updates
FM 2181

The contractor for FM 2181 has completed the two south east bound lanes. The contractor has switched traffic to the new south side in the first of three phases beginning on the west end to Windsor Parkway.  The contractor will be switching traffic on FM 2181 from Windsor Parkway to Olympus Court.  All traffic should be on the new south pavement by the end of July. The entire project should be completed by spring 2016.

FM 2499
Construction has begun from FM 2181 to Robinson. The contractor expects to open two way traffic on FM 2499 from FM 2181 to Pottery Trail in late July. They expect the entire project from Robinson to FM 2181 to be completed by spring 2016.

IH35
AGL Constructors are currently working to reconstruct the Corinth Parkway Bridge. They expect to open one lane in each direction on Corinth Parkway between the service roads and the south to north U-turn by October.  Visit the 35EXPRESS Project website to get the latest construction updates.

Tower Ridge Drive
The project is complete and open to traffic.

Shady Rest Lane

The contractor has begun excavating and subgrade preparation on the section from Walton to Corinth Parkway. Rains and underground water sources have delayed preparation of the subgrade around the Walton intersection. The contractor has begun installing a French drain on the west side north of Walton to capture the ground water. Upon completion of the French drain they will begin reworking the subgrade around Walton and then begin preparation for the paving operations. The paving from Walton to Corinth Parkway should be completed by early August and that section will be open to traffic. The project should be completed in the fall.

Lake Sharon Drive Extension

The City’s consulting engineer has submitted the 80% design plans and right-of-way documents.  City staff has reviewed the plans and the engineer is revising the plans. Right of way appraisals are being prepared. We anticipate bidding the project in August.

1.5 MG Water Storage Tank

The tank is completed and in service. The contractor is working on the perimeter fence and site cleanup.

Parks Master Plan
The city has been working with a consultant to develop a Parks Master Plan which will evaluate the need for parks, open spaces and trails throughout the city. A preliminary plan was submitted to the working committee on July 7, 2015. The final recommendations will be presented to the city council.
