Council Workshop Highlights:
Staff provided an overview of the audit of the City of Corinth's financial records for the year-ended September 30, 2018. Eide Baily, in its third year as the City's independent audit firm, issued an unqualified opinion on the financial statements, stating that the financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, the City's financial position in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles.
Council Regular Session Highlights
An interlocal agreement between the City of Corinth and the Lake Dallas ISD was approved to utilize Shady Shores Elementary School to host the Corinth Summer Camp Program.
A contract was awarded to Schmoldt Construction to proceed with the construction of the public works equipment storage building, site improvements and fire department training facility.
Accepted the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2018.
Reduced the setback requirements for accessory structures from 7.5 feet to 5.0 feet for structures over 100 square feet, and from 7.5 feet to 0 feet for structures less than 100 square feet. Residents can now place an accessory structure that is less than 100 square feet on their lot without a building permit from the City.
Increased the square footage requirements for zoning signs from six square feet in size to sixteen square feet in size, and require that one sign is placed per 1,000 feet of roadway frontage. Additionally, the Council voted increased the amount of time that notices must be sent to nearby owners from 10 days prior to a public hearing to 15 days prior to the meeting.
