Corinth police and fire staff prepare to move into the recently completed Public Safety Complex. Fire Administration is scheduled to move into the new facility on Wednesday, April 11th and the Police Department is scheduled to move on Thursday, April 12th.
The 32,000-square-foot main building located at 3501 FM2181, designed by Eikon Consulting Group and Komatsu Architecture, includes holding cells, a sally port, evidence rooms, records rooms, interview rooms, storage areas, and offices for Police and Fire personnel. The facility also includes a large training room that can be used for public meetings, as well as trainings.
A Building Committee was formed in 2016 to oversee the design and construction of the project, which included Council members Don Glockel, Joe Harrison and members of Police, Fire, Finance, and Technology Services staff. Construction of the Public Safety Complex began in September 2016 with the award of the contract to SEDALCO Construction Services.
“We are very pleased and excited to open our new facility to the community,” stated City Manager Bob Hart. “We appreciate the support of the city council, and specifically Council Members Glockel and Harrison for the many hours dedicated to the construction of our new headquarters.”
The main business phone numbers for both departments are set to change on April 12th. To contact the Police Department, please call 940-279-1500 and for Fire Administration 940-279-4590. Residents should use 911 for emergencies.
Plans are underway for a dedication ceremony for the new Public Safety Complex and Fire House #3 on April 28, 2018.
