Pumpkin Palooza received an Award of Honor for “Best Recurring Special Event” by the Texas Association for Municipal Information Officers. More than 300 entries from cities across the state were submitted among nine different categories. The judging criteria included outreach strategy, creativity, implementation, and overall program. The 2016 event hosted over 10,000 people who enjoyed a full day of family fun and entertainment.
The City is busy planning this year’s event which will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017. Brave Combo will be headlining while 10 brilliant hot air balloons glow in the background at dusk. An assortment of food trucks will please everyone’s pallet after working up an appetite in the pumpkin patch and kid zone. Local vendors will be onsite for avid shoppers and a zip line, bungee jump, rock climbing wall, and hot air balloon rides will cure the cravings of adventure.
Don’t forget to bring your competitive spirit! Whether you prefer to carve pumpkins, eat them, or race them, you’ll find your place battling against fellow pumpkin lovers in one of the many contests.
