Corinth has been named the 14th Safest City in Texas for the second year in a row. Safe Wise, a home security and safety news organization, used the most recent FBI Crime Report to determine which cities have the lowest crime rate in the state. This award signifies the continued dedication and commitment of the Corinth Police Department and citizenry in keeping the City of Corinth a safe place to live, work and play.
“The Corinth Police Department is very appreciative of the efforts of our officers, citizen volunteers and vigilant neighbors,” expressed Assistant Chief of Police, Greg Wilkerson. “We sincerely believe that their daily efforts, both individually and collectively as a team, have contributed to our successes in regards to maintaining the safety and security in our community.”
A variety of public safety programs and resources have been implemented that proactively address safety and crime prevention in the community. Citizens can sign up for the Vacation Watch program, participate in the Ride Along program, submit anonymous tips online, browse crime prevention tips on the website, or sign up for the Citizen’s Police Academy.
Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) also play an important role in the level of safety by serving as extra eyes and ears on the streets. These efforts, alongside the partnership with residents and businesses, contribute to making Corinth a safer place to live.
