NEW EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM

Everbridge

Denton County has launched a new notification system to keep residents instantly informed in emergency situations. By utilizing the Everbridge notification system residents will receive weather related and natural disaster alerts in real time.

Residents can set preferences to receive emergency alerts in three different ways: pre-recorded phone calls to both cell phones or land lines, text messages and emails.  Previous emergency alert registrations are no longer active. Residents must create a new profile on the Everbridge system to receive alerts, and sign-up is completely free.

“It is important to stay ‘Weather Aware’ at all times,” stressed Deputy Chief Chad Thiessen of the Lake Cities Fire Department. “By utilizing Everbridge, you are ensuring your safety even when sleeping, watching TV, or walking the dog. Knowing when danger is approaching is the first step to staying safe.”

Visit the Denton County Alert website for more information and to sign up for the new Everbridge notification system.  Android and iPhone users can download the app by clicking the links below.
