The remaining portion of the South Denton/Lake Dallas Drive bridge in Lake Dallas is scheduled for demolition next week. This is the final bridge demolition for the 35Express project.

During this work, the following closures will be in place:

Various daily lane closures of the northbound frontage road between Lake Dallas Drive and Church Street from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26 through Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Full, overnight closures of the northbound frontage road between Lake Dallas Drive and the northbound I-35E entrance ramp from Lake Dallas Drive from 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26 until 6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27. During this closure, the following detours will be in place:

• Northbound I-35E frontage road traffic will take Lake Dallas Drive north through the Hundley Drive intersection and back to the frontage road.

• The northbound I-35E frontage road between Lake Dallas Drive and Janet Court will be converted into a two-way condition for business access. Drivers wishing to access businesses north of the South Denton/Lake Dallas Drive bridge will take Lake Dallas Drive north, turn left onto Janet Street and left onto the frontage road.

The Oak /Lake Dallas Drive underpass will replace the South Denton/Lake Dallas Drive bridge. Scheduled to open in mid-2017, the new Oak/Lake Dallas Drive roadway will have one lane in each direction, a designated turn lane in each direction and a pair of Texas U-turn lanes. The north- and southbound I-35E frontage roads will meet at a signalized intersection on either side.
