The Corinth City Council is supported by seven different boards and commissions, all of which play an important role in helping fulfill obligations to the citizens of Corinth. Six of the seven boards and commissions will have seats come up for reappointment at the end of September. Each position is appointed by Council and will serve a full term that will expire September 30, 2018.
The Corinth Economic Development Corporation is a nonprofit corporation managed by a board of directors to promote economic development for the City of Corinth and will be looking to fill two Board Member positions.
The Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) acts as an advisory board on all matters relating to zoning, city planning, and development applications. The board's primary function is to prepare and keep updated the City’s master plan to ensure orderly growth and preserve the unique character of the community. P&Z will be looking to appoint two Board Members and the 1st Alternate.
The Citizen Finance and Audit Committee was established in April 2015 and assists the City Council in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities for the annual audit process, the development of financial policies and procedures, investment transactions and reports, and the system of internal controls. This committee will have one Citizen Representative place and one Council Representative place to fill.
The Ethics Committee is responsible for enforcing the adopted Code of Ethics policy requiring that public officials and employees be independent, impartial, and responsible while representing the City in any capacity for which he/she was appointed or elected. There will be two Board Member seats open.
Keep Corinth Beautiful (KCB) serves as an advisory committee to the Mayor and City Council regarding litter prevention, beautification and community improvement, and the minimization of solid waste. One Board Member position and one Council Representative position will come available.
The Board of Construction Appeals acts on appeals of orders, decisions, or determinations made by the Building Official relative to the application and interpretation of the Building Codes. The board is seeking someone to fill the 2nd Alternate position.
