CREWS PREPARE TO DEMOLISH THE SOUTH DENTON/LAKE DALLAS DRIVE BRIDGE IN LAKE DALLAS

The remaining portion of the South Denton/Lake Dallas Drive bridge in Lake Dallas is scheduled for demolition next week. This is the final bridge demolition for the 35Express project.

During this work, the following closures will be in place:

Various daily lane closures of the northbound frontage road between Lake Dallas Drive and Church Street from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26 through Wednesday, Sept. 28.

CLOSURE OF NORTHBOUND I-35E ENTRANCE RAMP FROM LAKE DALLAS

The northbound I-35E entrance ramp from Lake Dallas Drive is closed until 8 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21. This closure is needed to adjust the alignment of the ramp to the new northbound lanes of the interstate.

Drivers will take the northbound frontage road to Janet Court, turn right and then left at Lake Dallas Drive, then continue north through the signals at Hundley Drive and Swisher Road to the entrance ramp from Swisher Road.

OPENING OF TURBEVILLE ROAD/HUNDLEY DRIVE AND PERMANENT CLOSURE OF THE SOUTH DENTON DRIVE BRIDGE

The new Turbeville Road/Hundley Drive extension is scheduled to open with one lane in each direction at 9 p.m. Friday, July 29. The partial opening will replace the North Denton/Lake Dallas Drive demolished in October 2015.

Immediately after Turbeville Road/Hundley Drive opens, the South Denton/Lake Dallas Drive bridge will permanently close. The bridge will be demolished this fall and is the final bridge demolition of the 35Express Project.
