Chapter 380 Economic Development Program Policies and Procedures
To augment its business retention, expansion and attraction efforts and continuously deliver first-class municipal services for the safety, enjoyment and comfort of Corinth’s citizens, the City adopted the Chapter 380 Economic Development Program Policies and Procedures on December 1, 2016 (Resolution No. 16-12-01-27) pursuant to Chapter 380 of the Texas Local Government Code. Policy Statement for Tax Abatement
The City is dedicated to achieving and sustaining the highest quality of development in all areas of Corinth; and to a continuous improvement in the quality of life for its citizens. These objectives can be achieved, in part, by the enhancement and expansion of the local economy. Towards that end, the City adopted the Policy Statement for Tax Abatement on December 15, 2016 (Resolution No. 16-12-15-28), and renewed on November 15, 2018 (Resolution No. 18-11-15-14), to provide criteria and procedures for granting tax abatement on real property and/or business personal property improvements in accordance with Chapter 312 of the Texas Tax Code. Business Improvement Grant Program
Established by the Corinth Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) to provide technical and financial assistance to businesses seeking to improve their exterior, visibility and presentation, the Business Improvement Grant Program is available for property owners and tenants (with the approval of their property owner) within Corinth. Under the Business Improvement Grant Program, the CEDC will provide a 50 percent matching grant to reimburse up to $20,000.00 of well-designed improvements to achieve Corinth's goal of creating an enhanced and diverse local economic environment that is prosperous, stable and provides improved opportunities. Service Sign Grant Program
With the primary goal of improving motorist awareness of gas, lodging and restaurant establishments in Corinth, the Corinth Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) established the Service Sign Grant Program to provide financial assistance to businesses seeking to place their logos on service signs along Interstate Highway 35E and the Frontage Roads.
