City of Corinth general elections are held annually on the first Saturday in May. Items listed on general election ballots for consideration could include City Council positions, charter amendments, bond items, and CIP projects. Election ballots can also include county, school district, and state propositions.
City of Corinth Council Members are elected "at-large" each representing the entire community, and serve 2-year terms. The Mayor and Places 2 and 5 are elected in odd-numbered years. Places 1, 3, and 4 are elected in even-numbered years. Each member of the council shall be a qualified voter of the city and must meet the following qualifications:
Be 21 years of age or older on the first day of the term to be filled at the election or on the date of appointment
Have been a resident of the city for at least one year prior to election date
Shall not be employed by the city and shall meet all other eligibility requirements of the Texas Election Code.
