The Corinth Police Honor Guard Unit is comprised of officers who volunteer their time to formally represent the City of Corinth and the Corinth Police Department. The unit is commanded by the Senior Field Operations Sergeant.
The Honor Guard Unit may attend funerals, present colors at special events, perform military-style salutes and coordinate services for fallen officers such as during National Police Week.
In addition to their sidearms, Honor Guard Riflemen carry modified M-1 rifles which are capable of firing blank ammunition. Honor Guard Color Bearers are selected by their experience within the unit and/or prior military service.
Officers desiring to become a member of Honor Guard must be motivated, receive acceptable marks on their evaluations and must not have had any punitive disciplinary action against them in the 12 months prior to application.
