Corinth has changed a lot in the last 20 years. An amazing growth in population not only in Corinth, but surrounding cities and counties has driven the need for additional routes of travel as well as alternate means of travel.
Proactive planning has taken place at the city level, county level and state level for many years to address these needs. For Corinth residents you can see several results of this planning as you drive within the city or out to neighboring towns.
Corinth is now connected to Highland Village and Lewisville via FM 2499 South. You can reach Little Elm by traveling East on Swisher and over the new bridge. FM 2181 through Corinth is now under construction for the expansion to a 6-lane divided highway and FM 2499 North of FM 2181 is scheduled for construction.
In Corinth, Church Dr. has been widened, Meadows Oak and Lake Sharon Dr. have been reconstructed to 4-lane divided roadways, Parkridge Dr. North and South of FM 2181 have been reconstructed. Lake Sharon Drive Extension, Shady Rest Lane and Tower Ridge Road Improvements are under design for construction in the near future. In addition, for alternate means of transportation the A-Train is now in full operation.
