Storm Water Utility Fee

General Information
A Storm Water Utility Fee is a source of revenue available for cities to adopt and utilize to offset expenses incurred from unfunded federally mandated programs that must be implemented , such as Storm Water Permitting Phase II and to address and fund current drainage issues by implementing a proactive maintenance program.  To enable the city to charge a Storm Water Utility System Fee (Storm Water Utility Fee) the city first had to adopt, by Ordinance, the Municipal Drainage Utility System Act and establish the Corinth Municipal Drainage Utility System (Storm Water Utility District). After adopting the Ordinance establishing the Storm Water Utility District the city had to adopt an Ordinance establishing rates to be charged as a Storm Water Utility Fee.
