Police K-9 "Bear" began his career with Corinth Police Department in May 2008.
Bear is a full bred Chocolate Labrador Retriever, obtained through the Gifted Animal Placement Program, which assists shelters in identifying dogs with special skills.
Bear is trained to detect substances such as marijuana, methamphetamines, heroin and cocaine by an aggressive alert response. Bear is also trained as a tracking dog that can find the trail of suspects, lost persons, etc. through the use of his sense of smell.
Officer Carson Crow has been with the Corinth Police Department since 2006. Officer Crow and Bear have been a team since August of 2009. Officer Crow and Bear are certified through the National Narcotic Detector Dog Association (NNDDA). As a team, these two may handle routine calls for service but their main objective is to conduct narcotics investigations through criminal interdiction.
Bear's skills are available to all law enforcement agencies in the area.
When Bear is not working he likes to relax and play with toys.
